Basic Statistics Quick Chart

Each year Lincoln made changes to the Mark VIII. Some of the changes are small, such as a change in leather brands, while others are major restyles, like the 1997 model. Below is a comparison from year to year, with changes highlighted. GREEN highlights cite increases, RED highlights mark decreases.

Note that the weight of the vehicle varies based on optional equipment.     *Base price figures also vary greatly. The ones listed above are from Lincoln literature. Over the course of a model year, Ford may (and in many cases did) raise or lower the base price of the car, independently of rebates and incentives. Some of the above base price figures might include freight charges or other misc fees. It is known for a fact that the base price of Mark VIIIs increased each year from 1993-1996, then was drastically reduced for the 1997 and 1998 years.    **Actual production numbers also vary depending on the source. Reputable sources all list production numbers within 1,000 units of the numbers listed above for each year. Production numbers listed for the 1995,1996, 1997, and 1998 base models include LSCs.
